The Holiday Season Reflection
This time of year I always like to reflect on what has happened, good and bad. I probably had the most ups and downs this year in my personal life than ever before – I have had the best days of my life happen – my wedding in June then the dreamiest honeymoon in Santorini, Greece. I have also had the worst things in my life happen, our 5-year-old pup passing away from cancer unexpectedly. I have learned so much from all of these experiences and I feel like I have become a strong and more compassionate person. I could have never been prepared for all of the new experiences, some of them were heartbreaking, disappointing and sad but others have been full of love, happiness, and passion. I have learned to take whatever comes my way one step at a time and always find the silver lining in the situation. Life is full of unexpected experiences and I have tried to stay as open as possible to become a better person from each and every one of them. I have made sure to keep my circle tight and filled with those I trust unconditionally, I have some really amazing people in my life who are so supportive of everything I do. I couldn’t be more thankful for those relationships (you know who you are!) and I try to make an effort to let them know how much I appreciate them whenever I can. One new relationship I am so grateful for is the one with my 8-month-old nephew, Carson. It has been the most amazing experience watching him grow and be apart of his life. My sister is the most amazing mother and she has become the best version of herself. I cannot wait to have babies with Steve and raise our children together, my nephew has brought all of us so much closer and it makes my heart so happy.
Professionally, I have been through many changes but I have come out exactly where I feel like I should be. I have always been someone that has dreamed of working for myself and that is finally coming true. All of the trials and tribulations have taught me so much and I am more focused on my goals than ever before. I have a lot of work to do but I am excited to get started and have a fresh start in the new year. I have been trying to decide what my new year’s resolutions are going to be, I have a little more time to figure it out but here are a few thoughts:
-I need to work on being more regimented in my schedule and more thoughtful with my time.
-I want to put time aside every day to meditate and unplug from the daily grind.
Have you thought about what some of your new year’s resolutions are going to be?!
My birthday is on December 30th and I love starting a brand new year as well as being one year older. I look at it as a new slate and a way to become a better version of myself. After everything that has happened I am so appreciative of my life and I cannot wait for all of the new experiences in 2018. This blogging journey has taught me so much and I am so excited to continue it next year. I love interacting with you guys and sharing my style diaries, I am so passionate about fashion and love creating new outfits and sharing them! I have so many new ideas and goals and can’t wait to share it all with you!
