My Daily Skincare Routine

Finding a skincare routine had been a long process but I have finally found a combination of products that work with my skin to make it look radiant and glowing! I have dry and sensitive skin that naturally has some redness to it so it is important for my skin to always be hydrated while gently taken care of. I have learned that consistency with these products as well as cutting out most sugar from my diet and drinking lot of water is the best way to get my skin where I want it to be. Figuring that out took some time but once I saw the correlation between my sugar intake and zits appearing on my face I couldn’t hide from it anymore. I also found that these products have helped balance my skin to not be so dry and over time it has evened out my skin tone getting rid of most of the redness. In general, I am just so happy with where my skin is.

The first step in my routine is always washing my face, I make sure to do so twice a day to keep any bacteria off of it. I use the Beautycounter Cream Exfoliator when I shower and then the Beautycounter Cream Cleanser when I am washing my face in the sink. I like the combination of the two because exfoliating is important to get dead skin cells off my face throughout the week but the cleanser helps hydrate and gently clean. The next thing I use is my ice roller, I leave the roller (it is detachable) in the freezer so it helps depuff my face and neck after sleeping. It feels so good and there are benefits to using it like tighten and smooth the complexion, decrease the size of pores and lifting the skin.

My Experience: The Beautycounter Countermatch Collection

I was on the search for a skincare regime with my new found need to switch to safer beauty and skincare products. This was a new line for Beautycounter and I was excited to see what it was all about so I placed the order! It came with a serum, eye cream, day cream and night cream. In addition to those products I also used the Balancing facial oil mixed with the creams as well as the peppermint lip balm. 

I started using it and doing the regime every morning and every night for a few weeks. I use the serum first, then the eye cream and depending on if it is day or night I use the day cream or night cream and I add a few drops of the face oil to it. To finish it off I use the lip conditioner. Serums are beneficial for hydration, brightening of the skin, strengthening skin cells and acne prevention, it is an important step. Eye creams are very important because the skin around the eyes are more fragile and quicker to show fatigue and age. It helps with the appearance of lines and fluid under the eyes as well. Day and night creams are essential to boost hydration, prevents flaking and dullness and creates a layer that protects all day. The best part is it helps serums work better! 

After the first 2 weeks, I was not super impressed to be totally honest and was kind of bummed about it. I felt like I was not seeing a huge change in my skin. At that point, I decided to only use the regime once a day and use a basic clean moisturizer once a day as well. Once I started doing that for the next two weeks I began to notice that my skin was taking a turn for the better! I noticed I was able to wear less makeup on a daily basis and my complexion was all around brighter. I am not sure if only using the regime once a day was the reason I saw a change or if it was the length of time or both but I am just happy that it happened. It taught me to be patient when trying new products, it does not happen overnight and I need to let the products do their job.

I think that using a regime every day helped me to be very strict about making sure my face was properly cleaned every night and every morning. My problem area has always been the sides of my chin with random spots on my forehead in terms of zits and I have seen less and less of them since making these changes which I am really excited about. As I have gotten older I have understood the importance of skincare and these products are not only effective but safely made with ingredients that work with the skin.
