My hair has gone through a lot of phases in its time, it is so thick and curly that it was always a struggle to figure out how to tame it. Growing up all I wanted was straight hair and I would use a straighter on it all the time but it was a lot of work and very damaging! I finally decided to work with my hair and find products to showcase my curls in the best way I could. The first product I ever used was called Curls Rock by Catwalk, it was a thick paste that I would scrunch in my hair with my head flipped over. When it dried my curls would stuck in place and my hair would be good to go! Into college, I got really into curling my hair with an iron and that is what I have been doing the majority of the time in different ways but I also like to bring back the gold old natural curls every so often!
Below I am sharing my current hair care favorites as well as a tutorial on how I curl my short hair!
When I choose to wear my hair naturally it is when I am having a low key night or during the summer on vacation when I want to be low maintenance. I am not into the crunchy curls like I used to be so when I came across the Beautycounter Texture Sea Salt Mist I fell in love! I spray it on my damp hair and scrunch my hair flipped over then let it dry and it creates really pretty frizz free curls. This is definitely going to be a warm weather for a super easy carefree look!
As much as I like to wear my hair naturally I curl it a lot more, it lasts longer and has a clean and chic look that I love! The Beautycounter Smooth and Control Hair Oil has been my go to before I blow dry my hair and after I curl my hair! Once I am done styling my hair I have also been loving the Beautycounter Volume and Shape Volumizing Mist. It foams a little bit in my hair and I will tease for all-day hold. I am sharing exactly how I use both products in the video tutorial below!
