Shoes: Here
Hair, everyone has different obstacles but the goal is the same – to keep it healthy and shiny! It can easily become brittle and split, especially with all of the hot tools I use on mine! Over the years there have been a few things that have really helped with preventing damage and keep it thick and happy as well as a few recent changes I have made that I have seen almost instant results from!
Right before we left for Chicago for Christmas I was blow drying my hair with the dryer I had for 4-5 years and it literally started sparking in my face! Clearly, it was time for a new one so I was on the hunt for an affordable and efficient option and ended up going with the T3 Featherweight Hair Dryer. I am so happy with the purchase and noticed a difference in my hair after the first dry! I was in a rush so dried my hair right out of the shower (I usually let my hair air dry a little so there is less damage done and it still takes me about 10-15 minutes) but with this new tool, it took me 10 minutes to get it fully dry, I was shocked! Besides that my hair was super smooth and tangle free. It is lightweight (aka featherweight haha) and comes with a 2” circular brush and a drying concentrator. There is a 2-year warranty and a 30-day money back guarantee which I really love just in case anything happens to it! It is on sale right now for just over $100, the price I got it for, and it is worth every penny!
Since my birthday hits so close to Christmas and my blow dryer broke right before Christmas I decided that I would update my curling iron as well. By no means is it a necessity, I have used my Hot Tools 24K Gold Curling Iron forever and it is so much more affordable so if that is more in your price range it is a great option. But I was really interested in this option because after purchasing the convertible base there are lots of different barrel options, there are a ton of amazing reviews and it is SO pretty! An internal microchip controls temperature fluctuation, there are 5 heat settings and a 1-hour auto-off which I definitely need!
The first barrel I decided to go with is the 1.25″ Polished Curls option and I am loving it! It creates such pretty, casual curls and leaves my hair so smooth and shiny, with the combination of the dryer I have never loved my hair more! Each part is pretty expensive but I decided to invest in these tools because I consistently curly my hair and have for years now! I am hoping by investing in these tools my hair will become even healthier over time and save it from all the heat I am putting on it! Both the convertible base and the attachments are under a 2-year warranty as well! The next one I will be getting is the 1″ Defined Curls barrel!
Collagen is one of my biggest beauty secrets, I put a scoop into my coffee every day. Technically, I should be taking 2 scoops a day but it is on the expensive side so I try to preserve it as long as possible but it still works and is so worth it! My favorite is the flavorless and odorless option because it can be put in anything and is undetectable. Collagen is so important to support healthy skin, hair, tendon, cartilage, bones, and joints. Personally, I use it to grow my hair and it works like a charm, not only does it grow but it is strong which is great!
This is the best hair oil I have ever used, it is a dry oil so it doesn’t make my hair greasy like countless other options I have tried. It can be used while hair is wet, before blow drying and also while hair is dry while using hot tools. I like to use a little on the ends while my hair is both wet and dry to have some type of protection on it.
Hair Ties that don’t Break my Hair
I am so obsessed with these hair ties, they are not only functional because they prevent tangling and hair breakage but my hair looks a little tousled and undone when I use them. They are the only ones I use now and they come in lots of color options depending on hair color.
A few other things I do:
Trims every 3 months – I will set an appointment with my hairdresser while I am there so I don’t have to think about it and it is on the books. Depending on how I feel a week or two before the appointment I will decide if I just want a trim or to change it up a bit! Either way, it is important to get the dead ends off.
Brush my hair before bed and never go to bed with wet hair
I hope this helps! I would love to hear what you do to keep your hair healthy in the comments below!
