Having a blog for the past few years I am always looking for beautiful places to take photos, at this point I feel like an expert at it! I am always looking for amazing landscape, different textures, light-colored paint and just overall a uniqueness that is something other than red brick and green trees. It is always fun to come across a background that is really going to add the wow factor to a shoot! Anything marble is my favorite and I get super excited!
Below is a list of some of my favorite places to shoot, both in Baltimore and ideas to check out if you are not located here! I will continue to add to this as I find new places so it is a great reference for family photos, blog shots, headshots etc!
Senior Centers – Sounds weird but they always have the cutest buildings, porches, and landscaping. Everything is always so well maintained and everyone is always super nice and welcoming!
Churches – They always have the best seasonal/holiday decor and their grounds are just overall gorgeous! I love how they decorate for holidays and they always have some cute steps to pose on!
Baltimore County District Courts – it is all white and has a marble look, so beautiful! There are so many angels to get photos so I will go there and change a few times and knock out a bunch of looks at once. The best part is no one ever knows all of the photos are at the same place! Tip – go on the weekends or after work hours so you are not trying to shoot around a lot of people!
Clyburn Arboretum – the grounds are gorgeous and the mansion is stunning! There are buildings and gardens and these amazing greenhouses to get as many photos as you need! Fun fact: Steve did not think the photo below was going to turn out but I had a vision so we snapped a few shots anyway and they are my favorite! Can’t wait to go back this summer to get more in that same location!
Hampton Mansion – the grounds are so beautiful and the stairs to the mansion are amazing! Also, a great place to get multiple shots done and looks like different places. My sister did her family photos here and put them on canvas’s around the house and they are all so beautiful!
Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens – The building is old and gorgeous and the grounds are amazing. There is a fee to go inside the conservatory so bring cash with you if you do want to explore what they have in the building! We ended up not going inside because the outside shots were just too good!
Front Porches – I am not advocating trespassing but there have been times when family friends have decorated for a holiday and I have gone over to take pictures. A porch shot is always so beautiful especially with flowers all around! Tip: If you are getting shots on a porch do a few standing and sitting at different angles!
Seasonal Farms – It is always fun to document pumpkin picking or Christmas tree hunting so I always like to shoot at different farms around town during the holidays!
Graffiti Alley in Baltimore – an alley dedicated to graffiti, it is really cool and colorful! I love that it changes with the different layers of graffiti every so often.
Hope this helps with inspiration when trying to figure out where to get pictures!
xo,
Unfortunately I don’t have any clue where that places are but I’ll try to find something similar in my neighborhood and we will see what we have 🙂 thanks for inspirations
Happy to share any locations you are curious about!! Do you live in Maryland?!
