This Thanksgiving is going to be a lot more intimate than in the past, thanks to COVID-19. Instead of family gathering together from different states, a lot of people will be staying home and celebrating with immediate family only. It is a tough time for everyone, very unknown and different than we are used to. But I hope it can also be a special time that we can embrace. This year will make us very grateful for larger gatherings in the future.
A great way to make it really special for the people you do get to spend the holidays with is to do a gorgeous tablescape! My in-laws drove in from Chicago to see us for the first time this year a few weekends ago. We are not all going to be together for Thanksgiving so Steve and I decided to do an intimate dinner to celebrate a little early with my parents and his parents! It was the first formal dinner we have done in our home which was really special. I loved decorating the table as well as making butternut squash soup and a pumpkin roll with my mother-in-law. Steve took on the rest of the menu, he is the best cook!
I like to keep it simple but still classic and beautiful! I keep all of my plates, utensils, and cups neutral so I can use them every season but change up the placemats and centerpieces to really customize the table! The lazy susan is a great centerpiece and it is perfect to put condiments on since it can be rotated!
No matter how you celebrate Thanksgiving this year I hope you have a healthy and happy holiday!

Beautiful table and delicious dinner!
